ArcBest Q3 Profit Rises As Revenue Tops Estimates - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Logistics firm ArcBest Corp. (ARCB) Monday said third-quarter profit increased from the prior year, reflecting business growth at ABF Freight and all of its emerging companies, including an ongoing strong performance at Panther Premium Logistics.

Net income was $19.6 million or $0.72 per share, compared to $14.0 million or $0.52 per share last year.

Excluding pension settlement charges, earnings were $0.74 per share, while adjusted earnings totaled $0.53 per share last year. On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.75 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue increased 14 percent to $711.3 million from $623.4 million in the third quarter of 2013. Analysts expected revenues of $699.25 million.
