ARMSTRONG, Iowa, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Art's Way Manufacturing Co., Inc. (NASDAQ: ARTW), announces its wholly-owned subsidiary, Art's Way Scientific, Inc. (www.buildingsforscience.com), has been awarded a contract for three modular Calf Care™ buildings from a state-of-the-art Upper Midwest dairy operation. The contract is valued at approximately $448,000.

We are very pleased to be their supplier of choice for modular calf care buildings. They currently have 5 of our buildings and with these 3 news ones, it brings the total to 8 units.  The buildings are 14' wide x 72' long 60 head calf care nursery. The advantage of our calf care buildings for large scale operations is that handling of calves is easier, daily feeding and monitoring health status is quicker than in traditional outdoor calf huts. The buildings cleanable surfaces and the environment are ideal for getting calves off to a healthy start. There are approximately 6,000 calves born at this operation each year, so optimizing animal health is critical. To date, the dairy operation has experienced almost zero mortality rate for calves housed in our modular calf care buildings, a record we are very proud of."
