Assurant Inc Q3 Income Declines 22%

(RTTNews) - Assurant Inc (AIZ) released earnings for third quarter that dropped from last year.

The company said its profit declined to $116.8 million, or $1.71 per share. This was lower than $150.1 million, or $2.05 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.56 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 6.3% to $2.53 billion. This was down from $2.70 billion last year.
