AXA Future Risks Report 2024: A growing sense of vulnerability but renewed confidence in insurers to tackle risks

AXA today publishes the eleventh edition of its Future Risks Report. This year, more than 23,000 respondents from a double panel of experts and the general population in over 50 countries (Europe, America, Asia-Pacific) expressed their perception of risk. This study is carried out in partnership with IPSOS, and the data collected is analyzed by our teams dedicated to AXA risk management.  The 2023 study focused on the polycrisis facing our societies. As this crisis continues to unfold, with tangible impacts on citizen's daily lives, it fuels a heightened sense of vulnerability, which is clearly expressed in this year's survey. Indeed, 87% of experts believe that the world is more vulnerable to risks than it was previously.In this context, the role of insurers is perceived as even more important in protecting populations from existing and emerging risks: 91% of experts are convinced of this, as are 72% of the general population.
