BancTec Answers CenturyTel's Call for Remittance Processing Services

DALLAS, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- BancTec, a global provider of advanced, high volume document and payment processing solutions, announced that CenturyTel recently signed a seven year agreement for BancTec to perform all of CenturyTel's remittance processing -- approximately 1 million payments per month -- as a managed service. CenturyTel is a leading provider of communications, high-speed Internet and entertainment services in small-to-mid size cities in 25 states.

BancTec's processing service center in Addison, Illinois will receive and process all of CenturyTel's mailed customer payments. The invoices and checks will be processed using the facility's high-speed transports as well as BancTec's proprietary PayCourier(R) and PayCourier(R) Archive remittance processing and archival solutions. PayCourier converges all payment streams, including paper checks, images, Image Replacement Documents (IRDs), Automated Clearing House (ACH) and debit transactions into one unified processing system. Once the invoices and payments are processed, an electronic file will be sent back to CenturyTel for integration into its customer information and financial management system.
