Bausch & Lomb Names Gerhard Bauer Senior Vice President, Global Operations & Engineering
Bauer, 50, has been Bausch & Lomb vice president of GlobalOperations & Engineering for Europe since 2001. He succeeds Dwain L.Hahs, 53, who has been named Bausch & Lomb senior vice president andpresident - Asia Region.
Bauer has been with Bausch & Lomb for 14 years, progressing fromproduction and plant manager for Bausch & Lomb's Dr. Mann Pharmabusiness in Berlin, to vice president - Operations at Dr. Mann Pharmabefore being named to lead the Company's European Global Operations &Engineering group. Prior to Bausch & Lomb, Bauer worked in Germany forBeecham (now GlaxoSmithKline) and Ciba Vision Ophthalmics.
Bauer, a Munich native, received a M.S. degree in 1980 and a Ph.D.in 1982 in Pharmaceutical Science, and an advanced degree in 1990 inPharmaceutical Technology, all from the University for Pharmacy inMunich.
