Between proprietary mirroring schemes used by various storage hardware vendors, different tape backup strategies, snapshot technologies, and other data copy processes, just monitoring the completion of nightly backups or validating the integrity of closed multiple proprietary mirrors is a source of on-going expense, aggravation and pain. CA Recovery Management is taking the right steps to centralize the management of data protection services, complementing the administration of its own branded backup and replication products with a robust scripting language that can be—and is being—used by smart business continuity professionals to bring third party data protection processes under scrutiny.
