Chartwell Report Highlights Consolidated Edison's Use of AMRON's M5(TM

HARTSVILLE, S.C., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- AMRON Technologies, Inc. announced today that Chartwell, Inc., a leading research and analyst organization, has featured AMRON's M5(TM) Advanced Metering Platform in its most recent Customer Communications & Metering Report.

Commenting on the M5 platform in the report, Larry Nardo, systems specialist for Con Ed, said, "This technology and supporting data collection arrangement is by far the most robust available ... During each reading we retrieve interval data, meter consumption, instantaneous demand, maximum demand, per phase voltage and current, and in the case where a meter is equipped with PQ functionality we also read and report KVA, KVAR, and power factor. In its current configuration, the system is capable of reading at the rate of 1,200 per minute or 72,000 per hour!"

Mark Leach, chief technology officer for AMRON, said, "We're delighted Chartwell chose to focus on Con Ed's very successful advanced metering initiative. A leader among utilities, Con Ed is often looked to by its peers as the benchmark for the deployment of new technologies. We are honored to have Con Ed as our customer."
