Citizens Banking Corporation Names Chief Marketing Officer

FLINT, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2005--Citizens Banking Corporation (NASDAQ:CBCF) announced today that John Owens has been named senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the corporation. Owens succeeds Brad Fogleman, who has been named senior vice president and delivery administrator for the corporation.
Owens will head the corporate communications and marketing group and serve as a member of the corporation's senior leadership team.
"John's extensive background in marketing, communications, advertising and planning, coupled with his passion for client growth and satisfaction, will enable Citizens to improve growth in all our businesses," said William R. Hartman, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the corporation.
Owens has 30 years of experience in marketing and communications. He joins the company from TCF Bank in Detroit, where he was senior vice president and director of marketing. From 1997 to 1998 Owens was vice president of retail communications for National City Corporation and from 1984 to 1996 was with NBD Bank (and later First Chicago-NBD Corporation), serving in a variety of positions including small business marketing manager and director of marketing, communications and retail planning.
Owens has a bachelor's degree from the University of Ohio and resides with his family in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
