Citrix Introduces the Selection Panel for Synergy 2010 in San Francisco
Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS), today revealed the panel of judges who will determine the session content for Citrix Synergy™ in Spring 2010. Consisting of analysts and enterprise IT professionals, the committee of independent judges will review, evaluate and select the industry breakout session speaker roster for Synergy. Held May 12 to 14, 2010, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Synergy will focus on the growing convergence between virtualization, networking and cloud computing.
Unlike other virtualization events, Synergy invites its competitors and technology thought leaders to submit forward-thinking and technically rich content addressing proven ways to use virtualization, networking and cloud computing to create a dynamic, agile IT infrastructure.
Focused on interoperability and openness, Synergy brings together the following judges to determine the speaker line-up:
- Christian Reilly, manager of global systems engineering, Bechtel Corporation
- Shirland Whipple, director of IT infrastructure, Cox Communications
- Mark Bowker, analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group
- Paul Myerson, senior channel analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group
- James Staten, principal analyst, Forrester Research, Inc.
- Cindy Borovick, research vice president for IDC's Datacenter Networks service, IDC
- Troy Stevens, principal enterprise architect, Mutual of Omaha
- Nigel Chubb, wintel services manager, Tesco
Citrix welcomes speaking proposals that address trends, technologies and solutions in the following areas:
- Desktop virtualization is the hottest IT topic today. It can free users and IT organizations from the burden of a traditional PC infrastructure while providing a foundation for next-generation computing. This track will discuss practical realities for delivering corporate desktop to users, as well as the significant benefits companies can achieve through a well-designed desktop virtualization solution.
- Application virtualization removes considerable administrative burden from IT departments, leaving them free to focus on strategic business needs. This track will focus on proven best practices for managing an application virtualization infrastructure, increasing the number and type of applications that can be delivered, as well as cost savings associated with application virtualization.
- Server virtualization breaks the one-server-one-operating system and one-server-one-application paradigm, and allows multiple operating systems and applications to run on a single server and allows users to dynamically move workloads between hosts. This track will examine server virtualization’s role in reducing physical server requirements while increasing server utilization for enterprises worldwide.
- Cloud computing has the potential to create a computing revolution in the same way that industrialization revolutionized goods production. It will make production by small operations impractical as large, extremely efficient service providers are able to produce IT infrastructure services in high volume at a low cost. This track will delve into what the cloud means to businesses and how companies can prepare today for the datacenter of tomorrow.
- Networking issues are becoming more prevalent with the influx of devices, applications, regulations and remote workers. This track will examine how the current distributed computing environment places extreme – and seemingly insurmountable – demands on IT. It will also examine how IT can take advantage of existing networking technology to provide a high definition IT experience to all users, no matter the device, location or connection.
Speaking proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis but early submissions are encouraged. The first round review will begin Oct. 15 followed by a second round of reviews Dec. 4. Notification of speaker acceptance for Synergy San Francisco will begin Nov. 20, with final notifications beginning Jan. 15, 2010.
