Citrix NetScaler Gains Market Share in Application Delivery Controller Market
Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in application
delivery infrastructure, announced continued revenue growth and market
share gains in the application delivery controller (ADC) worldwide
market according to a new March 2008 report from Gartner titled, "Market
Share: Application Acceleration Equipment, Worldwide, 4Q07 and 2007”1.
For 4Q07, the Citrix® NetScaler®
web application delivery product line continued to strengthen its market
share position, growing its share in the overall ADC market and the
advanced platform application delivery controller (AP-ADC)2
sub-segment for the third consecutive quarter. 2007 also marks the
second year in a row that Citrix NetScaler has grown its share of the
ADC market.
Enterprise customers are increasingly relying on server centralization
and web-enabled intranet applications to manage the growing diversity
and complexity of their application environments, fueling a 36 percent
growth in the application acceleration equipment market that reached
more than $2 billion in 20073, according to the
Gartner report. Furthermore, the explosive popularity of highly
interactive consumer web applications are putting ever greater pressure
on enterprises to deliver a great experience for their own web
applications. Citrix NetScaler brings market-leading performance and an
unparalleled track record of delivering the world’s
most demanding and high-profile web applications.
"Customers look to Citrix NetScaler to
accelerate the performance of business-critical web applications, secure
sensitive application data and lower the cost of delivering web
applications to any user in any location,”
said Sanjay Uppal, Citrix vice president of marketing, Application
Networking Group for Citrix Systems. "We think
our continued ability to gain share in this highly competitive market is
a testament to our ability to empower customers to keep pace with
growing application complexity and rising user expectations.”
A member of the Citrix Delivery Center™
product family, Citrix NetScaler is a purpose-built web application
delivery solution that accelerates application performance up to five
times while improving security and reducing web infrastructure costs. In
addition to delivering web applications for thousands of corporate
customers, NetScaler is also the delivery infrastructure of choice for
most of the world’s largest consumer
websites, touching an estimated 75 percent of all Internet users each
day. The product line continues to set new standards in the Application
Delivery Controller market with its AppExpert Visual Policy Editor, and
integrated end user application performance monitoring, SSL VPN and web
application firewall. As a result, administrators gain unprecedented
control over the entire web application delivery process and can improve
the experience of corporate application users, no matter how complex the
environment.
