Columbia Pipeline's Board Okays $2.7 Bln Investment In New Projects

(RTTNews) - Columbia Pipeline Group Inc, a subsidiary of NiSource Inc (NI), on Wednesday said its board has approved a combined future investment of $2.7 billion in new infrastructure projects to support the development of gas supplies in the Marcellus and Utica shale regions.

According to the company, the Mountaineer XPress and Gulf XPress projects will provide 2.7 billion cubic feet per day of firm transportation from Marcellus and Utica production areas to markets served by the Columbia Gas Transmission and Columbia Gulf Transmission systems.

The company said the two projects will substantially increase its existing infrastructure to transport gas from the Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia production areas.
