Compass Minerals Q4 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Compass Minerals International Inc. (CMP) reported that its fourth-quarter net earnings increased to $58.4 million, or $1.73 per share, from $30.1 million, or $0.90 per share, prior year. The company noted that its fourth-quarter earnings included a net benefit from special items of $2.9 million, while net earnings in 2012 included unfavorable special items totaling $4.2 million. Excluding special items, net earnings were $55.5 million, or $1.65 per share, for the quarter.
