Copel announces 1H13 Results

CURITIBA, Brazil, Aug. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Companhia Paranaense de Energia - Copel (NYSE: ELP / LATIBEX: XCOP / BOVESPA: CPLE3, CPLE5, CPLE6), a company that generates, transmits, distributes and sells power, has announced its results for the first half of 2013.

Copel's consolidated balance sheet presents the figures of its wholly owned subsidiaries (Copel Geracao e Transmissao, Copel Distribuicao and Copel Telecomunicacoes), controlled companies and investees. The consolidated financial statements were prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), and with the accounting practices adopted in Brazil.

• Net Operating Revenue: R$ 4,482 million.
• Operating Income: R$ 960 million.
• Net Income: R$ 650 million.
• EPS (Earnings per Share): R$ 2.38
• EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation And Amortization): R$ 1,104 million.
• Return on Shareholder's Equity: 10.1% in the period.
• Growth in Energy Supply: 9.3%
