BMC Atrium provides a risk-assessment system that calculates the importance and risk of a particular change and allows Southern Company to prioritize the hundreds of monthly changes according to potential business impact. Southern Company also consolidated the BMC Remedy Change Management and BMC Remedy Asset Management solutions with the BMC Atrium CMDB to deliver on its ECM initiative.

"The business doesn’t want to hear that a system is down and that we don’t know when it will be back up,” Traynor said. "With BMC, we can avoid those unplanned surprises. What’s more, we can use the BMC applications to speed problem diagnosis. Both of those benefits are making our customers quite happy.”
