BDI and Brau Union Austria took the overall victory at the Energy Globe Austria Awards 2016

(Grambach, June 09, 2016): As part of the Energy Globe Awards every year remarkable energy and environmental projects are awarded. On June 7, 2016, after the victory for the region Styria, BDI - BioEnergy International AG and Brau Union Austria have also took the overall victory of Austria.

At yesterday's event in the Power Tower of the Energie AG in Linz both businesses BDI and Brau Union Austria received the award in the category "Fire" and in addition also took the overall victory of this year's Energy Globe Austria Awards. With the help of the spent-grain fermentation plant of BDI it was possible for the Brewery Göss to switch to 100 per cent renewable energy and therefore reach the last milestone for CO2 - neutrality at the Göss location.

"We are very pleased that together with the Green Brewery Göss we were able to win such a recognized environmental award and are very proud that our spent-grain fermentation plant in Göss significantly contributes to this worldwide pioneer project", says Dr. Edgar Ahn (Member of the Board, CSO).
