Diageo Plc Fiscal Year Pretax Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Diageo plc (DGE.L, DEO) reported profit before tax of 3.123 billion pounds for the year ended 30 June 2013, compared to 3.121 billion pounds last year. Profit to equity shareholders of the parent company rose to 2.49 billion pounds, from 1.94 billion pounds, prior year. Earnings per share was 98.7 pence, compared to 77.4 pence prior year.

Sales improved to 15.49 billion pounds, from 14.59 billion pounds, and net sales increased to 11.43 billion pounds, from 10.76 billion pounds, prior year.

The directors of Diageo plc recommend a final dividend of 29.30 pence per share, an increase of 9% from the year ended 30 June 2012. The full dividend will therefore be 47.40 pence per share, an increase of 9% from the year ended 30 June 2012.
