Encore Capital Group Q1 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Encore Capital Group, Inc. (ECPG) Thursday reported first-quarter net income attributable to company stockholders of $23.2 million or $0.82 per share, compared to $19.4 million or $0.80 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Adjusted net income rose to $28.8 per share, compared with $1.02 per share, up from $20.9 million or $0.86 per share in the previous year quarter. On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.06 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues increased to $253.74 million from $144.59 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $246.99 million.
