First Solar, Inc. Announces 15% Drop In Q4 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) revealed a profit for fourth quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $164.14 million, or $1.60 per share. This was lower than $193.32 million, or $1.90 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.78 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 6.9% to $0.94 billion. This was down from $1.01 billion last year.
