Flowers Foods Q1 Results Miss Estimates, Backs Full Year View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Flowers Foods, Inc. (FLO), producer of Nature's Own, Wonder, Tastykake, and other bakery foods, Thursday said its first-quarter net income edged up to $61.39 million from $61.07 million in the previous year.

Earnings per share were unchanged at $0.29. On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.30 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales totaled $1.146 billion, compared to $1.154 billion last year, reflecting a volume decline of 0.9 percent partially offset by positive price/mix of 0.2 percent. Analysts expected revenues of $1.16 billion.

The company continues to expect 52-week fiscal 2015 sales of $3.786 billion to $3.861 billion and earnings per share of $0.96 to $1.01.

Wall Street looks for earnings of $0.97 per share on revenues of $3.79 billion.

The board of directors will review the dividend at its next regularly scheduled meeting.
