Fluor Adds Peter S. Watson to Board of Directors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Fluor Corporation announced the election of Peter S. Watson to its board of directors, effective today. Watson recently served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and is currently president and chief executive officer of the Dwight Group, which supports global transactions.

"Peter is an international leader who will add greatly to our board's deliberations," said Alan L. Boeckmann, Fluor's chairman and chief executive officer. "He brings valuable expertise on U.S. government, international business and financial matters, as well as Asian affairs."

Watson will be the 11th member of Fluor's board and the 10th independent director.

Prior to his tenure at OPIC, Watson was counsel to Pillsbury Winthrop LLP, advising on international business and trade policy matters. He concurrently served as senior advisor to Armitage Associates, L.C. Prior to those appointments, Watson served as chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission. In addition to his five years on the commission, Watson served at the White House as director of Asian Affairs at the National Security Council.

He is on the board of visitors for the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and the Friends of Auckland University. In addition, he is a distinguished lecturer in the adjunct faculty of Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, serves as an advisory board member for Georgetown University's Journal of International Law and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. During his tenure at OPIC, he served as President Bush's representative from the executive branch on the board of trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Watson holds L.L.M. and doctoral degrees in International Economic Relations from McGill University and an L.L.B. from Auckland University Law School.
