Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and Office Depot Launch the "Green Office Makeover Contest”
Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), a leading global provider of office products and services, joined with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce to launch the Office Depot "Green Office Makeover Contest.” The contest, which is open to Greater Miami Chamber members, kicked off at last week’s Chamber Green Initiatives Task Force Event and will run through Earth Day, April 22, 2010. "Today’s small and medium-size businesses realize the importance of tapping into the marketplace trend towards greener products and services,” said Yalmaz Siddiqui, Director of Environmental Strategy for Office Depot. "With the Green Office Makeover Contest, Office Depot is hoping to identify and reward the businesses who are already growing greener and taking advantage of the growth of green."
Entrants are asked to submit an official entry form with answers to five questions and a 250-word essay and supporting materials that will be reviewed by a judging panel, featuring representatives from Office Depot, the Greater Miami Chamber as well as the South Florida academic community. The submissions are due and the contest ends on April 22.
The Office Depot Green Office Makeover Contest Judging Panel includes:
- Yalmaz Siddiqui, Director of Environmental Strategy for Office Depot
- Lara Schenkman, Associate, Pathman Lewis LLP, Chairwoman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Water Conservation Committee
- Dr. John C. Van Leer, Associate Professor of Meteorology and Physical Oceanography, University of Miami
The winner of the Office Depot Green Office Makeover Contest will receive a prize package worth over $4,000, including GreenGuard certified office furniture, EnergyStar qualified technology, a collection of environmentally preferable office supplies and a consultation with Siddiqui.
