Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. Announces 24% Retreat In Q3 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (HIG) reported a profit for third quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line declined to $364 million, or $0.86 per share. This was down from $477 million, or $1.06 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.98 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 4.4% to $4.56 billion. This was down from $4.77 billion last year.
