Horace Mann Educators Reveals 33% Drop In Q2 Profit

(RTTNews) - Horace Mann Educators (HMN) revealed earnings for second quarter that dropped compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit totaled $10.3 million, or $0.25 per share. This was down from $15.4 million, or $0.36 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.17 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.6% to $283.5 million. This was up from $268.5 million last year.
