FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2005--InterVideo(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:IVII), a leading supplier of multimedia software home entertainment solutions, announced today that it will collaborate with tvtv, one of the leading European EPG operators, to integrate the electronic program guide (EPG) "tvtv for PC" with InterVideo's well acclaimed Home Theater(TM) product line.
With InterVideo's software and advanced technology, users are able to program their media PC via the Internet and TV. Consumers will also be able to set TV program recordings via their mobile phones. By integrating the tvtv EPG with InterVideo Home Theater products, it offers significant advantages to users including up-to-date program information available to the TV device and advanced features such as record, play back and Timeshift (recordings with time-delayed playback) that can be easily controlled by using the TV remote control. In addition to the standard EPG functions such as category sorting, full text search and detailed program information, tvtv also offers a personal channel profile, series recordings, stored favorite searches and mobile telephone services.
"With InterVideo, tvtv has found a key partner in the booming home entertainment and media PC market," said Marek Machacek, Sales and Marketing Manager of tvtv. "We are convinced that new features such as our mobile service will contribute to the Europe-wide success of the InterVideo Home Theater product range."
"The deciding factor for our choice of partner was not only the European coverage but also the benefits of the connectivity between TV, Internet and mobile telephones," said Steve Ro, CEO and founder of InterVideo. "Along with tvtv, InterVideo will provide a convenient interface for the consumer. With just one click in the EPG program, the recording is set and users are ready for later viewing."
tvtv offers an EPG through websites in eight European countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. New extensions to the existing features are being presented at CeBit 2005 including remote programming via a mobile telephone and an offline ("download") version of the tvtv service.
With tvtv, the mobile telephone will make its debut as a remote control for programming TV program recordings, regardless of their location. The customer can simply go to the tvtv mobile website (in England: http://mobile.tvtv.co.uk) to organize their recordings. The system automatically recognizes and adapts to the display capabilities of the mobile telephone. Once the user has finished selecting the program recordings, tvtv Service will then transmit this recording list directly to the user's computer at home.
All customers who purchase InterVideo products with integrated tvtv for PC services will receive a free 30-day trial subscription. The tvtv service can either be extended at www.tvtv.co.uk, or will continue free of charge with a reduced feature set.
