JotSpot Integrates With salesforce.com's On-Demand Applications
PALO ALTO, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- JotSpot, the first application wiki company, today announced that it has teamed up with salesforce.com , the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, to integrate its entire suite of collaborative services with salesforce.com's on-demand applications. JotSpot Tracker is the first of several on-demand JotSpot applications that will be made available on salesforce.com's AppExchange. JotSpot Tracker brings on-demand to Excel spreadsheets, making them accessible anywhere at anytime using a web browser. Now salesforce.com users can deploy JotSpot Tracker within their Salesforce implementation to easily track and collaborate on activities such as project deliverables, team contact information, and account planning across extended teams. The announcement was made today at Appforce, salesforce.com's first annual AppExchange partner, user and developer conference.
Salesforce.com provides on-demand business services to help manage and close sales. After sales representatives close a deal using Salesforce SFA, teams must leave the convenience of on-demand customer relationship management (CRM) to implement the deal. Typically, team members return to the old method of using and emailing Excel spreadsheets to keep track of project schedules, client contact lists, and key account resources. These files get updated by various team members and then re-emailed, creating the problems of multiple and out-of-date versions, the inability to access these files remotely, and the likelihood that files get locked away on individual's computers.
JotSpot Tracker, now integrated with Salesforce, transforms Excel spreadsheets into web-based spreadsheets accessible and changeable via a standard web browser. Because the information is stored centrally on the Web, JotSpot Tracker enables easy sharing with teams both inside and outside a company's firewall, ensures that the information in the spreadsheet is always up-to-date, and allows for access to the spreadsheet anywhere at anytime.
On Wednesday, May 24, JotSpot co-founder and CEO Joe Kraus will showcase JotSpot Tracker as a featured partner at Appforce, salesforce.com's first annual AppExchange partner, user and developer conference, in San Francisco, Calif. JotSpot Tracker for salesforce.com is AppExchange certified and immediately available at http://www.salesforce.com/appexchange .
"We have seen growing adoption of JotSpot Tracker since its launch in January 2006," said Joe Kraus, co-founder and CEO, JotSpot. "JotSpot Tracker embraces the way small and medium businesses work with traditional spreadsheets and extends that to the Web, enabling collaboration across salesforce.com users, partners, and clients. This is the first of several on-demand services we plan to deliver for salesforce.com's AppExchange."
New JotSpot Solution Partner Program
JotSpot also announced a new partner program to help customers succeed with collaborative solutions. The JotSpot Solution Partner Program is designed for organizations that provide consulting services for JotSpot products or develop and market pre-built applications based on the JotSpot platform.
"The JotSpot Solution Partner Program has two primary benefits," said Scott McMullan, Director of Developer Relations, JotSpot. "Partners can reach new markets and help JotSpot's growing customer base succeed with new collaborative solutions, and customers benefit from the combined expertise and experience of the JotSpot partner network. Also, with new distribution channels like salesforce.com's AppExchange, the opportunity for JotSpot Solution Partners is getting bigger."
JotSpot partners include: individual developers, consulting services providers, system integrators, value-added resellers (VARs), and independent software vendors (ISVs). JotSpot partners provide a network of expert resources to address a wide range of business, process, and technology needs related to the JotSpot collaboration platform.
