Keurig Dr Pepper Recalls Peñafiel Water Due To Excessive Arsenic Level

(RTTNews) - Keurig Dr Pepper has recalled Peñafiel unflavored mineral spring water products, imported from Mexico, due to the presence of excessive levels of arsenic.

Water quality tests of Peñafiel samples conducted by an independent laboratory on behalf of Keurig Dr Pepper detected arsenic at levels that exceeded the FD!'s bottled water standards for mineral water of 10 ppb.

Arsenic in diet at very high levels causes numerous chronic diseases.

Consumer Reports says that it had earlier detected levels of arsenic in the water above federal standards and notified the company, in an investigation published in April. Consumer Reports' tests for April investigation found an average of 18.1 ppb of arsenic in three samples of Peñafiel.

All unflavored Peñafiel mineral spring water products including 600mL and 1.5L of all date codes are included in this voluntary withdrawal.
