Life Technologies Q2 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Life Technologies Corp. (LIFE) Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $126.6 million or $0.72 per share, compared to $122.4 million or $0.67 per share a year ago.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.98 per share compared to $0.96 per share last year. On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.96 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the quarter dropped to $945.8 million from $949.3 million last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $952.06 million for the quarter.

The company said it will no longer provide quarterly guidance because of the previously announced merger agreement under which Thermo Fisher will acquire Life Technologies for $76.00 per share in cash.
