MetLife Names Bharat Kannan Chief Distribution Officer, Asia

(RTTNews) - MetLife (MET) reported the appointment of Bharat Kannan to the position of Chief Distribution Officer for Asia. In this newly created role, Kannan will lead all intermediated distribution channels in Asia.

According to the company, the creation of the role marks a significant step to embed customer centricity throughout its selling activities across Asia, delivering a consistently high quality experience.

Kannan will continue to be based in Tokyo. He will have Asia-wide responsibility for agency, bancassurance, employee benefits and global relationship management channels. He will partner with in-country distribution leaders to drive value growth through disciplined distribution management.

He joined MetLife in March 2015 as Head of Employee Benefits Asia, from Aon where he spent over 11 years in several senior management positions in Asia and the U.S. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served on active duty from 1992 -1996.
