New Media Veteran Joins Fisher Communications, Inc.
As part of its strategic initiative to develop and build its online
businesses, Fisher Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSCI) announced today
that Nancy J. Bruner will lead the company’s
interactive businesses, as VP Fisher Interactive Networks, effective
September 27, 2007.
Ms. Bruner is a seasoned media executive with expertise in Internet
business development, strategic market development, product development,
and media management. Bruner joins Fisher from The Seattle Times Company
where she has spent the past 10 years serving as the company’s
Vice President of New Media. During her time with the newspaper company,
Ms. Bruner grew the new media revenue an average of 30% year-over-year
and built the leading online network of websites in the Puget Sound
market.
"Nancy is the right executive to lead Fisher’s
interactive businesses. She brings a deep knowledge of emerging media,
establishing strategic alliances and optimizing market opportunities in
new media,” said Rob Dunlop, Senior Vice
President Developing Media for Fisher Communications. "Her
management skill and focus on top-line revenue growth and audience
development will be extremely valuable to Fisher.”
In addition to Ms. Bruner’s experience with
The Seattle Times Company, she worked in Business Development and
Multi-Media Product Development for various organizations including
Spring Multimedia, and US West. Bruner holds a BA in English from New
Mexico State University and an MFA from the University of Southern
California.
"Fisher Communications represents a unique
opportunity to bring the assets of a traditional broadcasting company
together with its online properties (the Fisher Interactive Network and
Pegasus News). The market is rapidly taking shape and I see Fisher as
well positioned to set the tone for the way media companies will relate
to their local communities,” said Nancy
Bruner.
