New Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing Joins Central Freight; Ri

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 2005--Bob Fasso, President of Central Freight Lines, Inc. (NASDAQ:CENF) announced today the appointment of Richard (Rich) T. Stolz as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing effective February 28, 2005. Stolz will oversee 125 sales and marketing employees in 20 states.
In his new position, Stolz is responsible for defining value-added services for Central customers, building and training the sales team, and managing the entire sales and marketing organization. "Rich brings to Central a strong mix of sales capabilities and marketing talents essential to achieving our targeted revenue increases and strategic initiatives," commented Fasso.

Working with Fortune 500 companies and smaller organizations, Stolz has over 32 years experience in transportation, including 20 years devoted to trucking sales, marketing and management. Most recently he was the Founder and President of Acquired Expertise Associates, LLC, specializing in supply chain software consulting and training seminars for vendors and buyers.
Stolz began his career in transportation at Roadway Express, Inc. and then moved to Yellow Transportation, Inc. where he worked his way up through the ranks to become Director of Corporate Sales for Yellow Freight System for the East Coast. During his 18 years at Yellow, Stolz delivered the General Electric and JC Penney accounts and was the youngest person to run a New York City national account office for a major national carrier. He successfully grew revenues from $12M to $220M and assumed management of the eight corporate sales offices east of the Mississippi.
Following his tenure at Yellow, Stolz went on to be Senior Vice President at Weseley Software, a pioneer in the transportation software industry. He developed the award winning "Shipping Happens" advertising campaign for Weseley, launching them from start-up into the mainstream supply chain software market. He served as Director, International Business Development for Metasys, Inc. and then as Director of Transportation Strategy at Optum when they purchased Metasys. Stolz served as Vice President of Sales at Routemaster.com where he developed the concept behind the electronic routing guide now known as routingguides.com. He rounded out his international transportation experience with Maersk Data USA, a subsidiary of the Danish containership line before starting his own consulting company.
An accomplished speaker, Stolz has presented at CLM, AST&L, University of Tennessee's Supply Chain Forum, TOC Europe and recently as host of Manugistics' Transportation Summit.
