Nordion Posts Profit In Q4 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Health science company Nordion Inc. (NDN.TO, NDZ) Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $56.26 million, compared to a net loss of $43.51 million in fourth quarter fiscal 2012.

On a per share basis, earnings were $0.91, compared to a loss of $0.70 per share a year earlier.

Excluding specified items, adjusted earnings for the recent quarter were $0.15, while the firm posted $0.27 per share in the same quarter last year.

Revenues for the quarter fell 31% to $51.33 million from $74.67 million a year ago.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.18 per share, on revenues of $51.69 million. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For fiscal 2014, Nordion expects revenue and segment earnings to increase compared with fiscal 2013.
