Nordstrom Q3 Profit Tops View; Tightens FY13 EPS Outlook - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Nordstrom Inc. (JWN) Thursday reported third-quarter net earnings of $137 million or $0.69 per share, compared to $146 million or $0.71 per share last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.66 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the quarter grew to $2.88 billion from $2.81 billion last year, while 21 analysts estimated revenues of $2.87 billion for the quarter.

Total company same-store sales for the third quarter increased 0.1 percent.

For full year 2013, the company now expects earnings of $3.65 to $3.70 per share and revenue growth of 3.5 percent. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $3.68 per share.

Previously, the company expected earnings of $3.60 to $3.70 per share and revenue growth of 3 to 4 percent.

The company expects full-year same-store sales of 2.5 percent.
