NRG Energy Q3 Profit Climbs - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - NRG Energy Inc. (NRG) Wednesday reported a rise in its third-quarter earnings, as operating revenues grew year-over-year.

Net income attributable to the company climbed to $168 million or $0.48 per share from $119 million or $0.36 per share last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.52 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Quarterly revenues rose to $4.56 billion from $3.49 billion a year ago, while analysts expected it to be $3.46 billion.

The company reduced its annual adjusted EBITDA guidance to a range of $3.1 million -$3.2 million, from the earlier range of $3.2 million - $3.4 million.

Also, for fiscal 2015, the firm said it expects adjusted EBITDA in the range of $3.2 million - $3.4 million, which excludes a projected negative contribution of $100 million from the company's growing NRG Home Solar business.

The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.14 per share, payable on November 17, to stockholders of record as of November 3.
