Nude Jerk Forces Alaska Airlines Flight To Turn Around

(RTTNews) - An Alaska Airlines flight was forced to turn around and return to Anchorage shortly after takeoff on Wednesday after a passenger stripped naked and locked himself in a bathroom.

The unidentified man locked himself in the bathroom, which forced the plane to return to Anchorage at around 3 a.m., KTVA reported. Airport Police and Fire Sgt. Darcey Perry confirmed the incident to KTVA TV.

"There was a subject on the aircraft that had barricaded or locked himself in the bathroom, the lavatory," said Airport Police and Fire Sgt. Darcey Perry. "Flight attendants did find that the subject was naked."

The Boeing 737 which initially took off at 1:25 a.m. had to return to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and later again took off at 6:37 a.m.

Alaska Airlines spokesman Tim Thompson confirmed the delay and said the flight had to turn around "due to a passenger not following flight attendants' instructions."

"While no emergency was declared, pilots made the decision to return to Anchorage," Thompson wrote in the statement.
