Office Depot Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Earth Day by Helping Customers to Grow Greener
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) has launched a series of green initiatives under the theme of "Grow Greener.” Recognized as an environmental leader around the world, Office Depot is also working hard to help its customers grow greener with thousands of eco-preferable office products, along with solutions and special offers for small and medium businesses.
"Growing greener is a key philosophy for us at Office Depot,” said Yalmaz Siddiqui, Office Depot’s Director of Environmental Strategy. "By helping our customers to grow greener, we are planting a seed to encourage everyone, no matter how environmentally conscious they may already be, to grow greener in ways that are meaningful to them. We believe every small step counts.”
As part of its Earth Day 2010 program, Office Depot has created a new website at www.officedepotgrowgreener.com and is encouraging customers to submit their own ideas on how their business is growing greener. For each green idea submitted, Office Depot will plant a tree on the customer’s behalf with the goal of planting 4,000 trees by the end of May.
