Office Depot Partners with ACCO Brands to Launch the World’s First Digital-Capture Flipchart

Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), celebrating 25 years as a leading global provider of office supplies and services, today announced the availability of the Quartet® Kapture^TM Digital Flipchart, the first plug n’ play solution to instantly capture, edit and share meeting notes. The Kapture is currently available at www.officedepot.com.

The Quartet Kapture looks and feels like an ordinary flipchart. It features flipchart paper, color markers and an easel. However, a closer look at Kapture reveals the integration of simple yet effective technology - providing an intuitive solution that does not force users to change behavior.

Similar to conventional brainstorming, users can capture notes on the self-adhesive flipchart pages and post them around the conference room, keeping all information visible. The Kapture Digital Pen incorporates a camera that communicates via Bluetooth® to a computer through a USB receiver. When all is said and done, every word, pie chart or squiggly line is captured in real-time by a computer for easy editing and sharing.

According to research conducted by ACCO Brands, capturing and distributing digital flipchart pages as notes is more accurate. The use of visuals increases the recall of the meeting's details and decisions; plus saves time and money. On average, 10 pages of flipcharts are captured in a typical meeting and it takes 10 minutes to transcribe each page. Eliminating this process through the use of a Kapture saves an estimated $150 each meeting and enables meeting notes to be distributed within minutes.
