OM Group Names Daniel K. Lewis Vice President, Human Resources

CLEVELAND, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OM Group, Inc. announced today that it has named Daniel K. Lewis as its vice president, human resources. In this role, Lewis, 51, will become the company's most senior human resources executive. Among his primary responsibilities will be re- tooling the company's organizational and leadership development programs, implementing recruitment and retention programs and assisting senior management teams on a global basis in implementing strategic plans for their respective business segments.

Lewis comes to OM Group from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company , where he has served most recently as the director, human resources of Goodyear's European Union division since the spring of 2005. His primary responsibilities included the implementation of pan European strategic HR initiatives in succession planning, alignment of reward programs to performance, and cost out initiatives. Prior to moving to Belgium, Lewis was the top HR executive for the Chemical and Engineered Products divisions within Goodyear with 32 combined locations around the world, and 9,000 associates. Lewis managed the HR divisions' initiative in re-deploying and consolidating resources in North American operations, while expanding operations in Mexico and Asia. Likewise, he managed cost out initiatives, while executing the divisions' succession planning systems and recruitment programs for senior level and fast track positions.

Lewis joined Goodyear in 2001 and as its director, staffing and recruiting, he spearheaded the execution of the corporate-wide Future Global Leaders program that attracted MBA graduates from top tier MBA programs around the world. He began his career in human resources at PPG Industries in 1987 and has held various human resource positions of increasing responsibility at Mine Safety Appliances Co., Rubbermaid Inc., and was the first ever chief HR leader for International Management Group.

Lewis earned his M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron in 1979 and received his B.A. in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude in 1976 from Kent State University.
