Oracle Q3 Results Miss Estimates

(RTTNews) - Oracle Corp. (ORCL) reported net income for the third quarter of $2.57 billion or $0.56 per share, compared to $2.50 billion or $0.52 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the third quarter was $3.11 billion or $0.68 per share, compared to $3.11 billion or $0.65 per share in the prior year quarter.

Revenue for the third quarter rose 4% to $9.31 billion from $8.96 billion a year ago, while adjusted revenue also rose 4% to $9.32 billion from $8.97 billion last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.70 per share on revenue of $9.36 billion for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
