ProAssurance Corp. Q4 Income Advances 14%

(RTTNews) - ProAssurance Corp. (PRA) released earnings for its fourth quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $44.45 million, or $0.83 per share. This was up from $38.84 million, or $0.73 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.64 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 27.8% to $237.67 million. This was up from $185.90 million last year.
