Report: Disney Sued By Waitress Over Tips
(RTTNews) - Walt Disney Co. has been sued by a former server at Walt Disney World on tips.
Alexandra Dumitrescu claims that she served as a server at Cape May Cafe and The Wave ... of American Flavors, and had to do several non-tipped work while earning a reduced tips.
Tipped employees earn a smaller minimum wage than other workers. Florida has a minimum wage of $8.05 per hour, while tipped workers only receive $5.03.
Meanwhile, employees must receive untipped minimum wage if they work more than 20 percent on jobs that don't bring in tips.
