SAP Names Bernd-Michael Rumpf Head of Global Field Services
WALLDORF, Germany, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SAP AG today announced the appointment of Bernd-Michael Rumpf as head of Global Field Services. The field services organization comprises all consulting and education services SAP offers around the world. With the appointment, Bernd-Michael becomes a member of the company's Global Field Operations management team, reporting in this capacity to Leo Apotheker, member of the SAP Executive Board and president of Global Field Operations, SAP AG.
"I am excited that Bernd-Michael is assuming this new responsibility," said Leo Apotheker. "He brings with him valuable experience from managing large consulting organizations. He shares SAP's commitment to the customer, which underlies the mission of Global Field Services and drives its continuing success and profitability."
Bernd-Michael Rumpf joined SAP AG in 1999 and was responsible for the Global Consulting strategy and Global Field Operations until January 2002, when he became a member of the executive board of SAP Systems Integration AG (SAP SI), Dresden. He was appointed chairman of the SAP SI Executive Board in September 2002. From 2001 to 2002, he was a member of the supervisory board of SAP SI and regional director of consulting for SAP AG.
Bernd-Michael also worked as a strategic consultant and principal at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young from 1993 to 1999.
Bernd-Michael, who in addition to his new role as head of Global Field Services remains the CEO of SAP SI, assumes the position formerly held by Richard (Dick) Stewart, who is taking on a new position as senior vice president, Industry Solution Management for Services Industries, reporting to Peter Kirschbauer, member of the SAP Extended Management Board and head of Services Industries, SAP AG.
