SeeBeyond and Capgemini Team to Provide Integrated Solutions to Swedish Healthcare Sector

    Business Editors/High-Tech Editors

STOCKHOLM, Sweden and MONROVIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 2005--SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN), provider of the world's first fully Integrated Composite Application Network (ICAN) for advanced integration and composite application solutions, and Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of Consulting, Technology and Outsourcing services, today announced a strategic alliance whereby the two companies will market and deliver solutions to the Swedish healthcare sector.
Today's healthcare organizations must be agile in order to respond quickly to changes in both internal operations as well as external pressures including industry regulations and government mandates. However, most of these organizations can no longer afford to replace foundation systems to support emerging and fundamental business processes. The Capgemini/SeeBeyond alliance offers healthcare organizations a leading-edge platform for the delivery of fully integrated healthcare solutions based on a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). This service-oriented approach provides an open, flexible infrastructure to support the cost effective enablement of strategic initiatives including single patient view and the integration of back-end systems for streamlining business processes and services.
"Customers will benefit from the collaboration between SeeBeyond and Capgemini as our collective expertise in the healthcare sector can bring powerful competitive advantage and significant cost reductions through the implementation of an open, flexible and unified integration infrastructure," said Hakan Petersson, vice president and head of healthcare and public sector for Nordic countries, Capgemini.
With a team of experienced professionals, Capgemini has established a leading position in healthcare in Sweden, tackling the challenges of the advances in healthcare in the context of emerging technologies and reduced IT budgets. "Given that strong leadership position, Capgemini and SeeBeyond are well positioned to address the rapidly changing needs of the healthcare industry with industry-leading solutions for the health community," said Stefan Olsson, vice president global technology, head of architecture for Nordic countries for Capgemini.
Capgemini and SeeBeyond have collaborated on a number of projects to date, including Kalmar County Council who chose to implement the Cambio Cosmic healthcare information system from Stockholm-based Cambio Healthcare Systems and solutions from SeeBeyond to provide the critical integration component. The council chose SeeBeyond's eGate(TM) Integrator platform, with business process management functionality provided by eInsight(TM) Business Process Manager.
Kalmar chose Capgemini as its implementation partner, with SeeBeyond's consultants providing assistance and support in specific areas. The project began in fall 2004 and it is anticipated that all healthcare units in the area, including private facilities, will be using the new system by 2007.
"Partnering with a systems integrator that really understands the challenges and opportunities associated with driving added value from IT investments is essential to our goal," said Ian Hill, senior vice president and general manager of EMEA for SeeBeyond. "Building on our joint success with Swedish healthcare customers to date, we are delighted to be working with Capgemini to further our leadership position in the Nordic region."
