Stock Alert: OPKO Health Shares Soar 32% In Pre-Market

(RTTNews) - Presently, shares of OPKO Health Inc. (OPK) are continuing its uptrend in pre-market today, and is currently trading at $2.72, up 66 cents or 32.04%. The stock has been trading between $1.33 and $2.73 in the past one year, and closed Thursday's trade at $2.06, up 40 cents or 24.10%.

The company, on March 5, announced that its BioReference Laboratories Inc. would offer a test for the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), a contagious virus that causes respiratory infection and has shown evidence of human-to-human transmission.

BioReference expects to receive specimens for testing, and begin to provide testing next week. With an extensive network of patient service centers and a national logistic network, BioReference would provide expanded access to a COVID-19 testing across the United States.

BioReference has collaborated with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other public health agencies to help identify and develop diagnostic tests for emerging infectious diseases.
