Swift Transportation Q3 Profit Tops Estimate

(RTTNews) - Swift Transportation Co. (SWFT) reported net income for the third quarter of $50.2 million or $0.35 per share, compared to $30.0 million or $0.21 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings per share for the third quarter was $0.39, compared to $0.29 in the prior year quarter.

Operating revenue for the third quarter rose to $1.07 billion from $1.03 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.35 per share on revenue of $1.10 billion for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
