Sysco Corp. Q1 Income Climbs 21%

(RTTNews) - Sysco Corp. (SYY) announced earnings for its first quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $376.12 million, or $0.67 per share. This was up from $311.74 million, or $0.52 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.58 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 11.2% to $13.97 billion. This was up from $12.56 billion last year.
