Tele Atlas Closes Two Year Deal With Italian LBS Provider UbiEst

Tele Atlas, the world leader in high quality digital maps and dynamic content, and UbiEst, an Italian provider of location solutions, announced today an two-year agreement under which Tele Atlas will supply digital maps and location based content for UbiEst’s complete portfolio of products and services for business and consumer markets.

Through the agreement UbiEst online maps, navigation tools, location-based and geo-marketing services, internet accessibility and mobile connections for businesses and consumers will leverage Tele Atlas maps and location content. The company’s mapping services help customers in terms of location, routing and proximity of geographic assets, road navigation market and positioning benchmarking.

UbiEst’s most popular products are UbiSafe^® and UbiNav. A new generation of GPS tracking device, UbiSafe allows people to follow, in real time, the movements of children, pets, stolen vehicles, or anything else important to them. Using the web interface on a PC or mobile phone, the tracker can locate people or items at any time, view the exact location on a map, trace movements and send SMS alarms if something unexpected happens. UbiNav is UbiEst’s application for mobile navigation and mapping that transforms GPS-equipped smartphones into complete GPS navigators with maps and voice prompts. The product was successfully launched in January.
