The 2009 New York Times Travel Show Announces February 6 Travel Industry Conference at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
The New York Times Travel Show announced today the Trade Day schedule of seminars, workshops and a preview of the show floor for travel industry professionals attending on Friday, Feb. 6. This year’s keynote speaker for the Travel Industry Conference is Daniel Levine, executive director, The Avant – Guide Institute (AGI). The 2009 Trade Day is sponsored by leaders of the travel industry including Performance Media Group, producers of Travel Pulse, Agent@Home and Vacation Agent Magazines. The New York Times Travel Show and the Travel Industry Conference will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. The Trade Day hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and admission to the Conference is $20 ($30 at the door). This year’s Travel Industry Conference features more than 45 top industry executives in discussions on various topics including cost-cutting tips for travel agencies, marketing travel in uncertain times, building client loyalty and developing Web marketing. An accredited workshop will be offered through Cruise Lines International Association.
The Times also announced the Trade Advisory Board for the Travel Show. Twelve travel industry leaders assisted in the ongoing development of the Travel Show as the preeminent North American travel event. The sixth annual New York Times Travel Show will be held Feb. 6 to 8 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. The largest consumer and trade travel event of its kind in the United States, the Travel Show will feature nearly 500 exhibitors representing more than 100 countries and will focus on travel destinations, packages and special offers, as well as tour operators, cruise lines and live entertainment for the whole family. This year, the Travel Show will move to the Main Hall, located on the south side of the Javits Center. The event will showcase a variety of travel and vacation opportunities for consumers of all types: those traveling solo, as a couple or taking the whole family; those looking for budget or luxury trips; and those looking for relaxation and wellness trips or seeking adventure travel. The common thread will be the opportunity for consumers to book any type of vacation during the show, taking advantage of all the special on-site promotions that provide the most value for their travel investment.
