This Social Security Change Could Be Disruptive for Millions of People

Over the past nine decades, Social Security has been one of America's premier social programs. Whatever one's opinion about it is, it's hard to deny that keeping retirees financially afloat is a good thing. As of December, over 53.8 million people were receiving retirement benefits.One unfortunate thing about Social Security, though, is how often it changes. There are constant changes, such as the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), that you expect each year, and one-off operational changes that seemingly come out of nowhere.
