TRADE NEWS: Agilent Technologies and Solution Technology Provide Industry-Leading Fibre Channel Training for Hardware, Software Developers and Integrators

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) and Solution Technology, a technical training provider and book publishing company for high-tech companies, today announced an agreement to provide training classes for developers, integrators and managers for Fibre Channel technology. Solution Technology’s training classes are aimed at providing participants with an understanding of all aspects of Fibre Channel technology, from fundamentals to architecture. Instructors have deep technical knowledge coupled with real-world experience and understanding of the industry, to help further employee development and company success. "The faster we are able to train our engineers on new technology, the sooner we are able to develop and deliver products to our customers,” said Nancy Cross, Research and Development Programs, TSG Enterprise Servers and Storage L&D, Hewlett Packard Company. "The technical training seminars with examples of protocol analyzer traces are a way of expediting the knowledge base of engineers regarding a specific or new technology and are an attractive alternative to learning through reading industry standards.” Incorporating Agilent’s 173x Series Fibre Channel test tools into Solution Technology’s training supports the theoretical elements covered in the class with practical examples, and helps illustrate the nature and challenges of this technology. Students also get the opportunity to analyze real systems with Agilent’s protocol debug tools, including the latest standards of 8.5 Gb/s Fibre Channel. The end result is that students understand how to overcome the complexities of Fibre Channel technology and get a head start in their day-to-day job challenges. "The goal of our training classes is to provide leading-edge technology courses and eliminate confusion,” said David Deming, president and CTO of Solution Technology. "We chose to partner with Agilent because of its leadership in the industry, combined with Agilent’s hardware platform for Fibre Channel traffic generation and protocol analysis, helps us reinforce concepts covered in classes.” Agilent and Solution Technology will begin this collaboration by hosting public training classes at Agilent’s Santa Clara site throughout the year. The 2008 schedule for the five-day comprehensive Fibre Channel courses is: Feb. 11-15, 2008 Jun. 16-20, 2008 Oct. 20-24, 2008 "Combining the Fibre Channel technology training expertise from Solution Technology with Agilent’s industry-leading Fibre Channel test tools puts our customers in the driver’s seat when it comes to expediting solution development,” said Siegfried Gross, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Digital Verification Solutions Division. "These joint classes will help anybody who needs to know Fibre Channel technology, to understand and implement according to the latest Fibre Channel specifications.” U.S. Pricing and Availability More information about the Agilent 173x Series Fibre Channel products can be found at www.agilent.com/find/santester.
